The Player's Corner My parents are from Jamaica. I was born in New York City. I have spent most of my life on Long Island living in the town of Elmont. My first venture into music began with the guitar lessons at the age of six under guidance of Frank Ferrara. I attended Gotham Avenue Elementary School where I began instrumental music education. I began the baritone horn in the fourth grade. After years of playing the baritone horn I had the opportunity in the tenth grade to take on the rusty piece of brass sitting in the back of the Elmont Memorial High School band room, the tuba.
The tuba allowed me to develop a greater appreciation of music which led me to study Music Education at Ithaca College. I became a member of Dave Unland’s tuba studio.
I Graduated May 2010. I have since returned to Long Island to pursue a career in performing and teaching music. I joined the Senior Pops of Long Island in October 2010. It is an honor to play with such a fine group of committed musicians.Their dedication to create beautiful music, their wonderful work ethic, and professionalism has inspired me to be a better tuba player and a better individual.
