The Senior Pops, 2011
The Senior Pops Orchestra of Long Island was established on September 12, 1979 when two local musicians formed and funded the group as a vehicle for senior citizen musicians to express their lifelong musical creativity, bringing entertainment and culture to an appreciative Long Island community.
Today, we retain our well-known "Senior Pops" however we have evolved into an inter-generational orchestra with musicians of every age. We continue to bring the same musical enjoyment to a faithful and growing audience. Since its inception, our 60-member ensemble has always performed numerous free concerts annually, and has distinguished itself as a serious contributor to Long Island's thriving cultural scene.

Our Mission: To Bring the Joys of Music to the Senior Community and the community at large free of charge. To provide the opportunity for Senior musicians and all others to perform.
